Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name or date of birth in a search box, the query is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. That provider processes the entry and returns results. Maryland Warrant Records does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
A message sent to us may be retained so we can respond and keep track of the request. It is handled by the site team and is not shared outside that group unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
A visit can create routine technical logs. Depending on the request, those details may include:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files may be placed on your device to measure broad site use, such as which pages receive visits. Analytics providers may combine that traffic information into reports. Browser settings can block cookies, though a few site functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Reviewing overall page use and where site content may need improvement
- Sending a search query to the provider that runs the selected tool
- Maintaining the site's availability and response speed
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising, which may be selected based on browsing activity
No Warrant Data on File
Maryland Warrant Records does not host, build, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant files. Its material describes where public case information may be found and how Maryland's courts, sheriffs, and law-enforcement agencies handle different records. Maryland Judiciary Case Search is a public case index, not a complete warrant-status service; the Maryland State Warrant System described in a local 2018 directive is an agency query, not a public tool. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled here into consumer reports or personal warrant dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes found on some pages. Information typed into a tool is handled under that provider's privacy terms. Each provider sets its own retention and sharing practices, which this site cannot direct. Review the provider's policy before you submit information.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Maryland court services, local sheriff and police pages, legal-help resources, and outside search providers. Once you leave this site, the destination's own privacy notice applies. Maryland court records are subject to Maryland Rules Title 16, while the Maryland Public Information Act generally governs executive-agency records; neither rule changes the privacy practices of an outside website.
Some advertising services may observe activity across websites to choose or measure ads. That tracking is managed by those services under their own settings and notices.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with or handled by:
- Analytics providers that prepare traffic summaries
- Outside search companies that receive entries made in their tools
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads
- A government body or law-enforcement agency when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect information handled by the site. Internet services cannot be guaranteed free from every weakness or intrusion, so no method of transmission or storage can be promised perfectly secure.
Users Under 18
Maryland Warrant Records is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's information was sent to the site, use the contact route to request its removal.
Your Data Rights
Maryland's Online Data Privacy Act, in Commercial Law Title 14, Subtitle 47, gives rights to consumers when a covered controller processes their personal data. The law applies only when its scope and processing thresholds are met, so this policy does not assume that every site or activity is covered. Where the Act applies, rights may include:
- Ask whether a controller processes your data and request access
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion, subject to legal retention requirements
- Obtain a portable copy when the statute applies
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain automated profiling
See Commercial Law §14-4702 for the Act's coverage test and Commercial Law §14-4705 for the rights it describes.
